Biography

Babs Kirby is a writer, astrologer, lecturer and workshop leader. She retired as an integrative psychotherapist in 2011 after practising for thirty years.

Babs gained her diploma from the Faculty of Astrological Studies (www.astrology.org.uk)  in 1984 and went on to become its Vice President. She was the Director of the Faculty’s 2 year course, Counselling within Astrology, and taught for the Faculty for twelve years.

A founder member and fellow of the Association of Professional Astrologers International, (www.professionalastrologers.co.uk ) Babs was appointed to the Advisory Board of the National Council for Geocosmic Research (www.geocosmic.org)   in 2001.

Currently Babs is a trustee of The Urania Trust (www.uraniatrust.org) a charity in the UK, which provides funding for a variety of astrological endeavours, and is a member of the Sophia Committee, (www.sophia-project.org.uk) whose remit is to establish astrology on the curriculum in universities.

Babs has an MA in Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies from Essex University; her dissertation being Jung’s View of Astrology – A Critical Enquiry into the Role of Astrology in Analytical Psychology.

Babs has lectured extensively nationally and internationally and offers workshops that combine humanistic psychology with astrology. These can be tailored to the specific needs of a group or organisation.
